Nyungwe National Park Prices
Nyungwe National Park prices include the fees for entrance and rates for activities as charged per visitor category in Nyungwe Forest. There are other prices/charges (fines and penalties) for breaking the park rules and regulations. Nyungwe National Park of Rwanda located in the South West is the major site for Chimpanzee trekking in the country. It also offers the Canopy walk experience plus other activities like birding, nature walks and colobus monkey tracking.
Just like Akagera National Park, the pricing for Nyungwe National Park entrance and activities, as set by Nyungwe Management Company, aims at encouraging extended stays at the park. The fee for entry, for example, is higher for the first day or night but reduces for the subsequent days/nights. Note:
- Children 5 years and below do not pay.
- Children rates apply to 6 – 12 years. 13 years or above pay the adult fee.
- Citizenship and residence status must be verified by documentation without which foreign visitor rates can be charged.
- Entry fee inclusive of any trail is payable by all day visitors, or per night for overnight visitors staying inside the park. The fee reduces for the second and third nights by 50%.
- Visitors staying outside the park are considered day visitors and therefore will be required to pay the entry fee for each day they enter the park (unless staying in an approved hospitality entity that the park has a signed agreement with).

Note (for special activities):
- Rates above include the guide fees.
- The minimal group size has to be 2 and maximum 8. If one then pays for two.
- Groups could be joined specifically when on primate or night walking.
- Night walks begin at 5.30pm and end at around 8-9.30pm.

Note:
- Guides and porters picked up from the reception before 9.am and returned with in 5 hours will be considered as half day.
- Guides and porters picked up from the reception after 9.am will be charged for a full day, unless the guide is returned before mid-day.
- If a guide is requested to accompany a visitor to one of the multi-day walking trails, an additional fee of 15,000 RWF is applied for the guide’s accommodation and food for up to 3 nights. This applies to porters as well. Any supplement nights will command a top up of 5,000RWF per extra night.
- For every 8 tourists (excluding children 5 and below), having a guide is a requirement.
Commercial filming and photography per day is at $300 and requires the visitor to contact the park management.
Annual visitor Pass in Nyungwe National Park
An annual pass allows the visitor unlimited access to Nyungwe National Park for a one-off payment for a period of 1 year. The annual pass fee includes entrance but not special park activities. However, annual park holders are offered a 10% discount on park activities. Annual Park fees are not available to international tourists. Check table below for the annual pass fees.

Other activities and fees
Camping per adult per night is $15 and $7.5 per child. A canvas tent can be hired at $20 per 4 people.
Please note that tent hire fees do not include any bedding or camping equipment.
Breaking Park rules and regulations attracts a penalty/fine of $150 per culprit/incident.
