The trip starts with a visit to the immensely large Murchison Falls National Park for a game drive experience where you shall see the Big5 and other animals plus the birds walking around wild. You shall continue to Kibale National Park for Chimpanzee trekking and an excursion at the Bigodi wetland. Detailed trip itinerary for the 5 Days Murchison Falls safari & Kibale chimpanzee tracking tour

Day 1 – Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park

Have early breakfast and depart for Murchison Falls National Park. Lunch is en-route in Masindi town or at Kabalega Diners. Before reaching the park, you will make a stop to track Rhinos at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. On arrival into the park you visit the top of the Murchison Falls. It is breath-taking and spectacular to see the Nile squeezing through a small gorge of about 8 meters wide before it explodes into the world’s strongest waterfall.

From the top of the Murchison Falls you proceed to your accommodation for the rest of the day, dinner and overnight. An evening game drive is optional on this day. Dinner and overnight: Parkside Safari Lodge – budget, Murchison River Lodge – mid range, Bakers Lodge – luxury.

Day 2 – Murchison Falls National Park

Wake up to an early cup of tea/coffee before heading out to the game trails at 6.30 to see many animals before they escape back to their hide outs. Expect among others to see the Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Leopards, Buffaloes, Antelopes, and Warthogs. After four hours of exploring the game trails, return to the lodge for breakfast and relax.

Later after lunch, you go for the afternoon Launch Cruise on the Nile upto the bottom of the falls. It offers more wildlife views for like the Hippos, Crocodiles, Buffaloes, elephants and lots of water birds. The Launch Cruise is three hours long, return and transfer to your accommodation for the rest of the day, dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale National Park

After breakfast check out of the park and embark on the 7 hours drive to Kibale Chimpanzee Forest Park, travelling southwestwards via the Albertine Rift escarpment. Lunch is en-route in Hoima. Arrive in the evening, check in at your accommodation for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 4 – Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park

Wake up for early breakfast at 7.00am, and at 7.30am transfer to the park offices to meet the rangers. Visitors are strictly not allowed into the forest with out armed park rangers/staff. After the briefing, you will ascend to the forest to find the Chimpanzees plus an encounter with lots of other wildlife like the many monkey species, the antelopes, and occasionally the elephants, among others. After some time of walking, you will always be excited to find the Chimpanzees and a maximum of one hour with them is allowed after which you trek out of the forest. You will return and transfer back to the lodge for lunch. In the evening you do nature walk in Bigodi Wetland to observe some more monkeys, birds and a variety of wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 – Kibale National Park – Kampala

After breakfast check out and drive back to Kampala/Entebbe with lunch enroute. Travel time: 5 hours.
