2 Days Mountain Gorilla Trekking Rwanda tour: There is about only 800 Mountain Gorillas left in the world of which one third are found in Rwanda in the Volcanoes National Park. Some of them have been habituated for the Mountain Gorilla Trekking experience which enables travelers to track these endangered primates and observe them in their natural habitat. This is one of the most memoriable wildlife encounters you can do in Africa and Rwanda is one of the only three countries in the world that offers this experience.
Day 1 – Kigali – Volcanoes National Park
Pick-up from your hotel is at 8am after your breakfast. Travel northwards to Musanze District, the location of Volcanoes National Park. Check in at your hotel situated outside the park and relax away the day, enjoying the magnificent views of the mountain scenery. Later, have dinner and rest the night. Travel time: 3 hours
Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking, Travel to Kigali
Have early morning breakfast at 7.00am, get packed lunch from the hotel, and transfer to the park offices at Kinigi for briefing and allocation of the Gorilla families. At 8.00am you transfer to the starting point of the trek situated at edge of the park. You are provided with hiking sticks, and it is also here that you find the porters you may hire to carry your bags.
Enter the park, and trek through the forest to find your Gorilla group. When you the find the Gorillas, you shall have not more than an hour to observe them, before returning to the start of the hike, and eventually depart for Kigali City.
