Trip Itinerary for the 3 days Akagera national park wildlife safari
Day 1 – Kigali – Akagera National Park, Game Drive
After you have had breakfast, the driver guide will pick you up from the hotel in Kigali at about 8am. We will travel to Akagera National Park. You will arrive before lunch, check in at the hotel and relax. Have lunch at the lodge, you will then do a late afternoon game drive in the park for a chance to catch some big game. You will also view the spectacular African sunset over beautiful wilderness. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – Early Game Drive, Afternoon Boat Ride on Lake Ihema
Have an early cup of tea/coffee with a snack and then head out for the morning Game Drive into the park. It will start at 7:00 am, a good time to catch the nocturnal species, and the all the Big game out feeding. Bird-life is also at its best around this time. You should expect giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, and other wildlife. Several species of antelopes such as Impala, Topi, and Reedbuck. Leopards do occur but very elusive! After four hours, return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation.
After lunch, you will take a boat safari on Lake Ihema to view aquatic wildlife. You may also spot other animals coming to drink and shower. You cannot miss Crocodiles and Hippos! There are also lots of water birds. Thereafter return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 – Akagera National Park – Kigali
