3 Days Kidepo Flying Safari in Uganda. Many a times a visit to Kidepo Valley Park by visitors on a short stay in Uganda has been impossible due to its location many kilometers away from Entebbe airport and Kampala city. The long drives have always turned away visitors from reaching the 3rd Best National Park in Africa. On a good note, the park can be reached by scheduled flights from Entebbe airport or even charters.
Besides the low air traffic in Uganda, scheduled flights operate on particular days and follow a minimum/maximum passenger policy. It operates with 4 people minimum and 8 people maximum. This 3 day trip will depart and return to Entebbe airport.
Day 1 – Entebbe airport – Apoka Airstrip
We shall pick you from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe for a drop off at Entebbe airport from where you will catch a flight to Kidepo. Flights usually depart at 12:30 and arrive at Apoka airstrip at 14:45. Our driver will be at the airstrip waiting for your arrival to transfer you to the lodge for some rest/late lunch before an evening game drive.
In the evening, we shall check out for an evening game drive in this beautiful dotted savanna landscape to spot many animals including the buffaloes, elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, leopards among many and the different bird species. Leave the animals as they prepare for their night’s rest to drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – Full day Game drives in the Kidepo National Park
After breakfast at 06:30, we shall position ourselves by the car window seats or pop out the car roof to ensure that we don’t miss any chance of the animal views in this extensive wildlife Park. You will have uninterrupted views of the landscape as you spot the animals. Among them will be the herds of elephants, buffaloes, Giraffes, hartebeests, Cheetahs, leopards, Jackals and many bird species. After exploring the park’s riches, rest before lunch at your lodge as you reflect and share the wildlife moments captured on your cameras.
Late afternoon drive to the Kidepo Valley near the South Sudan border to see the hotsprings. It is in the same area that we shall have the highest chances of finding the Ostriches. Day 3 – Fly back to Entebbe
On this day, you can decide to relax at the lodge or go for a game drive before a transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe. Departure from Apoka airstrip is usually at 1500 and the expected arrival time at Entebbe will be 16:30.
