This 7 Days Uganda Wildlife and Primates Safari shall usher you into the jungles of the great Murchison Falls National park for memorable game drives during which you will spot different animal species including the big5 and a variety of birds plus plant species. Extend to Kibale National park for Chimpanzee tracking and finally to Bwindi Impenetrable National park for the Gorilla trekking expedition. You will have a chance of driving through Queen Elizabeth and time permitting, you will do a game drive in its southern sector of Ishasha to spot the tree climbing lions and other animals.
Day 1 – Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
Make plans with your hotel to have breakfast very early and be ready to leave Kampala/Entebbe like at 7:00am to avoid traffic jam. Upon pick up by your driver, drive out of Kampala along the Kampala Gulu Highway for close to three hours before turning off to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You shall do a 1 – 2 hour trek to spot the wild Rhinos in Uganda plus a number of other wildlife such as the Bushbucks, Oribis, and other antelope species. Thereafter return to the road and continue to Masindi or Kabalega Diners for lunch. After lunch proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, visit the top of the falls and do an evening game drive before checking into your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – Murchison Falls National Park
Have an early cup of tea/coffee and start off the Game Drive at 6.30am to catch a number of wildlife including Lions, Giraffes, Hyenas, Oribis, Kobs, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Waterbucks, buffaloes and lots more. After four hours, return to the lodge for breakfast if you didn’t have it before the game drive. After lunch you shall go for the boat Cruise on the Nile to spot Crocodiles, Hippos, elephants, plenty of wildlife and most phenomenal will be the view of the falls’ bottom. The Cruise is three hours long, return to the lodge for the rest of the evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 3 – Murchison Falls – Kibale National Park
After breakfast check out and travel to Kibale National Park. Lunch is en-route. Rest in the evening as you prepare for tomorrow’s Chimpanzee trekking expedition in the Primates capital of the world – Kibale National Park.
Day 4 – Kibale National Park
Have early breakfast and transfer to park offices by 7.30am. Register, meet the ranger guides and thereafter head into the forest to search for the Chimpanzees. You shall be allowed maximum one hour to view and follow them through the forest, thereafter return to find your driver and transfer to the lodge for lunch. Later in the evening you go for a nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland to view more primates, birds and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 – Kibale National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast check out and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the southern region of Queen Elizabeth National Park which is popular for Tree-climbing Lions and several big game. With enough time, do a game drive to see the tree climbing lions and other animals. After lunch at Ishasha restaurant, continue to the cool Bwindi forest park. Visit the local communities of Bwindi after checking into your lodge.
Day 6 – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Have early breakfast and transfer to the park offices by 7.30am, taking packed lunch from the lodge. Register, meet the rangers for a brief before the trek, you are allocated a Gorilla group, and by 8.00am you transfer to the start of the trek in the forest to look for the Gorillas. After the memorable encounter with these great apes, return and transfer to the beautiful lake of Bunyonyi for relaxation and overnight.
Day 7 – Lake Bunyonyi – Kampala
Take a canoe or boat ride on this lake of ‘small birds’ – L.Bunyonyi to visit its different small islands including the punishment island where they used to dump girls who would get pregnant before being married off by their parents. You will then leave for Kampala/Entebbe airport. Lunch is en-route in Mbarara town. You will also get to make a stopover at the Uganda Equator. Drop off in Kampala or Entebbe airport. End of the 7 days Uganda wildlife and primates safari.
