Detailed Tour Program for 18 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe airport
Arrival at Entebbe international airport and link up with your driver guide from Jungle Escape Africa who shall transfer you to a booked hotel in Entebbe. Dinner and overnight at Entebbe airport Guest house. The 18 Days Uganda and Rwanda Safari starts in Uganda and ends in Rwanda.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast drive northwards to the renowned Murchison Falls national park, with a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track the rhinos that are protected in this sanctuary. Later after lunch, proceed to Murchison falls national park, Uganda’s largest well protected wildlife area covering 3,840 Sq km. Move to the top of the Falls to view the natural beauty of these falls. At this place, is one of the wonders of the Nile River. You shall see River Nile squeezee itself through a 7meter narrow gorge from a width of more than 1 km and drops below with a thunderous roar forming a water spray that is flanked by a stunning rainbow. Check into Fort Murchison Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Murchison Game drive and the Nile Boat cruise
On this day, you will have a tasty breakfast and set out for a game drive. The tour guide will lead you to the finest places to easily see the animals. You will certainly enjoy Uganda’s true wilderness as you will be taking the best pictures that will be unforgettable on this safari. The thrill will be seeing lions, lioness plus their cubs together with other wild animals such as elephants plus giraffes moving, buffaloes and antelopes grazing in the savannah. Head back to your lodge for a delicious lunch and afternoon rest. Evening return to the jungles for a game drive to increase your wildlife sightings.

Day 4: Transfer from Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest Park
Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge and drive to Kibale Forest Park. You will take pleasure in the gorgeous scenery of this countryside which makes the journey more exciting. Have your lunch en route in Fort Portal town and continue as you will have great views of the Rwenzori ranges. Check in at your lodge. You could go for a guided nature walk in Bigodi wetland which is home to various birds and primate species. Later have dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 5: Semliki hot springs tour whole day
Early morning after breakfast at Kibale Forest Camp, drive to Semliki Wildlife Reserve for the amazing hot springs and the stunning scenic views. Exhaust your time here and return to Kibale Forest Camp in the evening.

Day 6: Kibale Chimp tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park
Within Uganda, Kibale area is among the charming places well-known for different primates and numerous crater lakes. In the morning you will check out of the lodge and have breakfast after which you shall set out to go for Chimpanzee tracking. Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will arrive in the evening. Have a delicious dinner and night rest at Bush Lodge.

Day 7: Game drive & Launch cruise on Kazinga Channel
Enjoy your breakfast and set out for a game drive through the Kasenyi track and other tracks where you have a chance to observe different wildlife species like lions, elephants, antelopes, buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes and if lucky enough leopards together with amazing beautiful bird species. Queen Elizabeth has a diversity of Uganda’s ecosystems such as the Savannah, wetlands, lakes, forests and over 600 bird species which live in the park.
With this, its scenery is spectacular with crater lakes like Nyamunuka and various shrubs and forests. Later head back to the lodge for lunch and relax. In the afternoon go for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel; this is one of the most memorable experiences from the park. Take pleasure in observing different water birds together with their echoing sweet sounds and animals such as hippos, African crocodiles, waterbucks, buffaloes among others. After experiencing the true wilderness, drive back to the lodge for a night rest and dinner.
Day 8: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge and Lake Mburo Park transfer
Have an early breakfast at Bush Lodge and check-out. Join your driver/guide, transfer to Kyambura Gorge to embark on a chimpanzee tracking activity. The closest “cousins of man” (chimpanzees) live and wander in the thick forest on the banks of the gorge. Chimpanzee tracking here involves descending and ascending on the banks of the gorge. Apart from chimpanzees, Kyambura Gorge is a hotspot for greater and lesser flamingos as well as the great Egret. Return to the staging area where you will join your driver and set off for Lake Mburo National Park. Check into Rwakobo Rock Hotel and prepare for the exciting night game drive in the park aiming at the elusive leopards and other nocturnal species.
Day 9: Game walk and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Park
A morning game walk in the park shall be done after breakfast at the lodge. Apart from the great scenery and floral scents, you are able to spot numerous animals like the zebras, Impalas, warthogs and antelopes grazing in the savannah. You shall then leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with lunch break in Kabale town. Check into Rushaga Gorilla Camp on arrival.
Day 10: Gorilla Tracking and Community walk -Bwindi
After a cup of tea, head to the park head offices with your guide, have a briefing about the dos and don’ts while in the park with gorillas. After head for Gorilla trekking through the misty rain forest. Trekking can take 2 hours or up to 6 hours which entirely depends on the location or even the movements of these gentle giants. Only 1 hour is permitted to trekkers while with the gorillas. Make sure you carry packed lunch, enough water, sturdy shoes, non-flash cameras, rain jackets, walking sticks for those who are not so fit. Later return to your lodge and relax. In the evening, go for a community walk where you will visit the Batwa, an indigenous group of people that had lived in the forest for many years, enjoy traditional dances from them. Head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Transfer to Kisoro – Lake Mutanda
Leave Rushaga and drive to Kisoro for a full day relaxation and boat ride on the beautiful Mutanda Lake. Mutanda area is one place that you can visit and never forget it and even when you stay longer, you’re likely never get bored of the views. It is overlooking the Virunga ranges and they can’t help but look so spectacular. Check into Mutanda Lake Resort on arrival.

Day 12: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda
Breakfast and check out of Mutanda Lake Resort for a transfer to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. Check into Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, have lunch and evening set out for the Iby’acwu cultural village tour. This place is an exhibit and representation of Rwanda’s cultural heritage.

Day 13: Golden Monkey tracking and transfer to Lake Kivu
Rise up very early for breakfast and set out to kinigi park headquarters to register and be briefed of the Golden Monkey trekking activity. Ascend to the trek starting point in the company of your guides. After finding the monkeys, return to the starting point where you shall meet your drive to continue to Lake Kivu area to rest away the afternoon and evening. Your place of stay here shall be Morias Hills Resort.
Day 14: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest Park for the canopy walk experience
Leave the lodge after breakfast and drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, check into Emerhaude Kivu Lodge for some refreshments and an early lunch. Continue to the park headquarters after lunch for a briefing before your canopy walk experience. Return to the lodge in the evening.
Day 15: Transfer to Akagera National Park from Nyungwe
The drive is quite long. We shall have a lunch break in Kigali city from where we shall depart in the afternoon to reach our destination for the day – Akagera National Park. We shall check into Akagera Game Lodge to refresh after a long drive and have dinner later.
Day 16: Game drive and boat ride
Morning breakfast at Akagera Game Lodge before reaching out to the jungles to spot animals and admire the park’s stunning scenery. After three hours of the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch after which you shall go for an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema to increase your animal sightings. Make a game viewing drive back to your lodge.
Day 17: Drive to Kigali
Have some leisurely drive to Kigali after breakfast. Make a game viewing drive as you check out of Akagera National Park. Visit the local markets in Kigali city for some souvenirs, settle into a local city restaurant to have some delicious lunch and later continue to Heavens Boutique Hotel Kigali. Check in, refresh and rest before dinner and the night’s rest.
Day 18: Kigali city tour and airport transfer
After breakfast at the hotel, drive around the clean Kigali city and visit the Genocide Memorial site. Lunch in the city and later transfer to the airport to check in for your flight back home. End of Safari.
