Detailed itinerary for the 3 Days Tree lions Tour

Day 1: Driving to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishasha tree lions game drive

After breakfast at 7.00am, we are to start our journey to the jungles of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stops will be made along the way; Uganda Equator crossing line, Mbarara for lunch or anywhere and for any reason that may necessitate stopping. The views of the crater lakes, the escarpment, the savanna plains and others will signal to us that we are finally reaching the ‘’home of the Kazinga Channel and Tree Climbing lions’’ – Queen Elizabeth National Park. We are to continue with the drive and enter the park through Ishasha gate in the south. Expect views of some animals like elephants, antelopes, baboons on the way to Ishasha. We shall do an evening game drive before checking into our lodge.

Day 2: Tree lions Game drive and Kazinga Channel boat cruise

Lions do not climb trees very early morning. Nonetheless, we shall have to leave the lodge after an early morning breakfast to maximize our time in the park where we can spot other animals as the dew dries up on the trees for the lions to climb.  After a chance on the lions, we shall drive to the northern sector of the park to have lunch and later a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel for more animal sightings as they rest, play, bath, feed along this water channel that links Lakes George and Edward. The boat cruise takes 3 hours after which we shall drive to our lodge.

Day 3: Optional morning game drive and depart for Kampala

Depending on where we shall have stayed, a morning game drive might be or not possible given that it’s the same day we shall be having a long drive back home. We shall embark on our return to Kampala which will be a relaxed drive with a lunch stop in Mbarara city. Drop off shall be at your preferred place in Kampala or Entebbe/airport.
