Other animals to see are hippos, Oribis, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, Uganda Kobs, bushbucks, Jackals, giraffes, spotted hyenas, primates like monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons and over 450 bird species including the most sought-after bird – the rare shoe bill stork, secretary bird, Abdims stork, Malachite kingfishers, Yellow-billed stork, African darter and many more.
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
At 6.30am, pick up for the first day of the 3 Days Murchison Falls National Park Hot air balloon Safari tour can be from the airport or your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala capital city. Start the journey to Murchison Falls National Park with your driver guide after breakfast. After 3 hours of enjoying the drive, there shall be a break for tracking Rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Tracking Rhinos is however optional. After lunch in Masindi town, we shall access the park through the southern gate and our first activity inside shall be a visit to the top of the falls. Here you are to witness the wildest activity by the Nile River as it squeezes all its water in a canyon less than 10 meters wide. After this incredible scene, continue with the drive to your lodge to check in and refresh.
Day 2: Hot air balloon Safari, game drive and Boat cruise
The second day of your 3 Days Murchison Falls National Park Hot air balloon Safari tour is an adventure and fun-packed one that shall require you to wake up as early as 5.00am. The driver shall transfer you from your lodge to the take off point at Paraa. The hot air balloon safari in Murchison Falls Park starts with the briefing done alongside preparing the balloon for the activity where air is pumped into it before you could board at daybreak.
Once you board, the pilot will launch for the start and the blowing wind will help the balloon to rise several feet off the ground and go above the treetops. As you fly over the open savannah grassland expect to have a great aerial view of all kinds of wildlife species in the park including those along the Banks of the Nile. After the 2 hours of floating above the park, you are to celebrate this adventure with certificate awards from the ground crew and a delicious bush breakfast. You are to get into your safari vehicle with a roof popped up and make a fantastic game drive to spot more animals before returning to the lodge to relax.
After lunch at the lodge, drive to the pier at Paraa to take a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison falls. The cruise shall be another avenue for spotting animals like the giant elephants, crocodiles, hippos, birds and a lot more enjoying an afternoon at the river banks. You are to return to the lodge after the 3 hours boat safari to relax before dinner.
Day 3: Return journey to Kampala/Entebbe
On your last day, you will have a leisurely breakfast at the lodge after checking out your bags. Dine as you share those moments you may have had so far before embarking on the drive back to Kampala/Entebbe airport. Lunch shall be enroute and a drop off at your preferred location shall mark the end of the 3 Days Murchison Falls National Park Hot air balloon Safari tour.
